MATCH RECAP:  LA Strikers

The Strikers played well but it was a game of missed opportunities as the team lost to a solid South County side 3-1.  South County scored the first 2 goals and then the Strikers closed the gap with a goal from John Medina who fired a well-placed shot from just outside the box past the keeper.  The Strikers almost equalized with a Lee Lottes shot off the post and then a header from Brian Bertotti that was saved off of the line.  South County scored again at the end of the game as the Strikers were caught forward and a counter-attack left goalie Dave Smartt with little defensive help.  The Strikers now look forward to the annual Las Vegas Tournament Feb. 19-21.
